*This article was updated in July 2022 because the original web pages were too large to be indexed by Google.
*I do NOT own the copyright for any movie posters.
*Movies are in no particular order. Please use Crtl F on your keyboard to find a particular movie. Movies that got a wide release in the year after their first screening are listed in the next year. For example, 300 (2006) is listed in 2007 because it only got a wide release in 2007.
*Don't worry about spoilers. You can read the review of any movie without being afraid of spoilers and enjoy the movie if you watch it. I intentionally made sure not to ruin a movie by revealing a hidden plot or hidden climax scene. I simply pass or fail each scene and comment on them.
The Last Airbender, 2010: FAIL
Commercial Failure
Writer: M. Night Shyamalan
Director: M. Night Shyamalan
Dialogue: Fail
Was the dialogue made up as they go? Oh dear god. Horrible dialogue.
Plot: A nation wants to enslave the other nations.
Story: Ethics
Characters: Fail
Acting: Fail
Horrible acting by all child actors. Oh dear god.
Comments:
Fail of intro.
Complete fail of every scene. Oh dear god.
Horrible cinematography and special effects throughout. The only exception is one scene where Aang is in the avatar state with the water rising up.
Way too much narration, terrible acting by all child actors, weak dialogue, horrible special effects.
Good diversity though (Indian instead of White as the evil colonizer, well done). Even though Indian actors weren’t able to pull it off.
Slow moving earth. Oh dear god.
The plot moved way too fast.
Complete failure of all scenes. Oh dear god. Fail of writing, directing.
Were the studio executives, producers and writer on crack cocaine when making this movie? Because it would explain a lot.
Fail of climax scene.
Fail of ending.
***Do not watch this movie. Should only be watched as a reference in how NOT to make a movie.
One of the worst movies of all time. This movie shouldn’t have made $1.00. The fact that it made over $300 million proves that God does NOT exist.
Doesn't hold a candle to the original animated series.

Director: Neil LaBute
Dialogue: Pass
Plot: A family wants to deal with the death of their patriarch.
Story: Family, Relationships
Characters: Pass
Acting: Pass
Comments:
Decent intro.
Ah…mixing up dead bodies. With unlimited demand, it happens.
Of course, if we went back to burying bodies on large pyre's or in boats in the ocean, it would be much more efficient and destroy today's funeral industry. Just saying.
The dead are taking up way too much valuable real estate. Cremate their ass and use that to plant a tree. Efficient and giving back to nature.
Good funeral prep scenes throughout.
Mother still waiting for grandchild. Yup, my parents are in the same boat. As long as the grandchildren are cute, they won't care how young my future wife is.
Good funeral scenes throughout.

Should have made more money. But the budget was way too high. it shouldn't have cost $65 million to make. Paramount Pictures has money to burn.
Shame that the movie is based on a book who’s author falsely accused a man of raping her who served 16 years in jail.

Fail of Pierce Brosnan scenes throughout.
Always nice to see Black people helping the White masters to achieve their goals. Well done Hollywood. Fail of protector guy scenes throughout.
Always nice to know Greek gods are screwing human women for kicks. Almost like liberal and conservative men who have affairs with younger women while their wives turn a blind eye. Feminists should be proud of their work in empowering/disempowering women.

Acting: Pass
Comments:
Fail of intro.
Fail of almost all scenes. Fail of writing.
It had potential to be a good movie. Too many strong stories competing for attention.
Needed a better writer.
Too many minor plots, fragmented scenes, too many new people being added. Can't keep track of which plot is main one.
Garbage dialogue.
Garbage scene changes.
Music doesn't match tension in scenes.
All characters are too weak. No emotional investment after an hour into it.
Bad cinematography. But bad cinematography is always blamed on the director.
Introducing and killing off characters late in the game.
Stretching out minor plots not good.

Comments:

Clearly the bar for comedy is at an all time low for Americans (most revenue was made in the US). But excellent slow motion shots throughout.
Fail of non-climax scene.
Fail of ending.
Not one of the worst movies of all time, but pretty close.
I'll concede that it was funnier than the others because of the slow motions effects.

Fail of all characters.
Acting: Pass
Excellent acting by Mads Mikkelsen.
Comments:
Good intro.
Fail of ship scenes.
So they topple a statue and ugly winged creatures kill them. I guess that works.
Always nice to see all White gods, with the exception of Hermes (Alexander Siddig) who looks Middle Eastern. I think Hermes got maybe five seconds of face time.
Even the ruling families are all White. Hollywood whitewashing at its best. Of course, the term “whitewashing” is simply a softer term for “racism.”
Fail of gods scenes throughout.
Fail of palace scenes throughout.
Fail of all battle fight scenes throughout.
I noticed how all the gods keep screwing humans in the night without asking for consent. I don't think that MeToo movement would take too kindly to this.
Fail of forest training scene.
So…humans are reliant on demi-gods? The point of the story is that the gods are saviors for weak humans. Well done Hollywood.
Ah…the religious fanatics, Of course.
Fail of 3 witches scene.
The djinn sorcerer guy reminds me of the sh*tty apocalypse guy in X-Men: Apocalypse (2016).
Good climax battle scene, but not enough to pass.

One of the worst movies of all time. This movie shouldn't have made $1.00. The fact that it made almost $500 million proves that God does NOT exist (which is ironic for the movie).

Fail of Oliver Jackson-Cohen’s acting.
Comments:
Decent intro.
Ah…the US prison system, where hate only grows for homicidal maniacs and liberals are too much of a p*ssy to put them out of their misery in a quick and compassionate manner. Both liberals and conservatives prefer to turn a blind eye to slavery and sexual abuse in prison.
Good cinematography throughout.
Nice to see a White man crossing the road without giving a f*ck. If a Black man tried that, the car in the first lane would have clocked him.
A quick and painless death. Well done.

Even with A-listers, you can't fix a garbage movie. $10 million in revenue on a $47 million budget? Wow. I didn't even think that was possible for a superhero movie.
But the failure of Pluto Nash ($7.1 million revenue on $100 million production budget) still has the record.

Good intro. But could have changed the tone of the movie. The corny music doesn't help.
Good office scene.
