PASSED: 43 Movies

FAILED: 78 Movies

*This article was updated in July 2022 because the original web pages were too large to be indexed by Google.

*I do NOT own the copyright for any movie posters.

*Movies are in no particular order. Please use Crtl F on your keyboard to find a particular movie. Movies that got a wide release in the year after their first screening are listed in the next year. For example, 300 (2006) is listed in 2007 because it only got a wide release in 2007.

*Don't worry about spoilers. You can read the review of any movie without being afraid of spoilers and enjoy the movie if you watch it. I intentionally made sure not to ruin a movie by revealing a hidden plot or hidden climax scene. I simply pass or fail each scene and comment on them.

Dialogue: Fail

Plot: An astronaut wants to return to Earth.

Story: Survival

Characters: Fail

Fail of Teddy Sanders character.

Acting: Pass

Comments:

Decent intro.

Fail of problem. Too unbelievable relative to technology.

Survival scenes too unbelievable. Boring scenes. Fail of writing.

Fail of NASA issue scenes throughout. Too unbelievable.

Fail of realization scene.

Good pathfinder camera scene.

Fail of crew realization scene.

All boring scenes throughout.

The teddy sanders NASA administrator could have been done from a more human point of view, Apollo 13 style.

Still boring scenes throughout.

So, the most brilliant people can’t figure it out? Oh dear.

Space pirate. Just die already.

That’s a lot of background extras. They probably cheat it.

***Do not watch this movie. Should only be watched as a reference in how NOT to make a movie.

One of the worst movies of all time. This movie shouldn’t have made $1.00. The fact that it made over $100 million proves that God does NOT exist.

Fail of family scenes.

Weak characters.

Good work scenes throughout.

Good solution scene, but the characters don't work.

Scummy manufacturing. Wait for mass 3d printing and you can do it yourself and just worry about China copying your patents.

Fail of office meeting scene.

Fail of most scenes. Maybe because everything is too dated. We don't really shop that way, aside from a few people.

Excellent climax scene, but not enough to pass.

Good ending.

Bridge of Spies, 2015 Bridge of Spies, 2015: PASS

Good dinner table scene.

Good interview scenes throughout.

Good contrasting plot. Well done.

Fail of motel scene.

Characters: Fail

Acting: Fail

Comments:

Fail of intro.

Fail of narration throughout.

Fail of home and work scenes.

Sloppy hair. Jokes.

Fail of house scene.

"It's hard to submit to a man like that". What? Oh wait, Christian women are supposed to be subordinate to their husbands. There we go.

Fail God-fearing Black woman throughout. "Don’t have to do the heavy lifting." So…no justice system then? Liberals or crazy religion people. And people wonder why I have little faith in humanity. It would be so much easier if I joined one camp vs. the other. But…that’s the way the rational mind works. It doesn’t like irrational things (either liberal or conservative).

Eating chips in closet. Wasted comedy potential.

"Rob you of a blessing by paying." Oh dear. I wonder how much money Christians give to the Church and count it as a blessing. Obviously, it’s a blessing for their eternal life. But if they’re going to get eternal life because they accepted Jesus as their lord and savior, why do they need more blessings? Just sayin.

Complete fail of all scenes. Garbage movie. Fail of writing, acting.

Fail of dream scene.

Fail of climax scene.

Fail of ending, but a good rallying call for Christians.

A Christian movie with Black actors/actresses that got a wide release. Clearly, God works in mysterious ways.

I’ve noticed the good diversity in Christian movies. Kudos to that. Maybe Hollywood and the Christian churches are trying to make up for supporting slavery for so long.

One of the worst movies of all time. This movie shouldn’t have made $1.00. The fact that it made over $60 million proves that God does NOT exist. Gotta love the irony.

$3 million production budget? Holy f*ck. Which means that the actors were getting paid next to nothing. Maybe "God called them to fulfill his word."

Yes, another dimension. Lovely. Get on with it.

Decent initial house scene.

Only the bat scene was good.

Fail of truck scene.

An hour into it and still waiting for the plot with a lot of wasted comedy potential.

Fail of France scenes.

Fail of other world scenes.

Interesting real plot. Shame the writer couldn’t pull it off.

Good memory scene.

Fail of climax scene.

Fail of ending.

By the end of the movie, the audience will secretly believe that they’re Neo from The Matrix, and that they’re the one to save humanity. A belief that can be easily exploited by numerous beings/factions. Some conspiracy theorists would like this movie, especially with the analogy of the Black Mirror.

Comments:

Good intro.

Good African interview scene.

Print journalism. Just die already. Let investigative reporting rule the online world.

Decent card scene.

Good board meeting scene.

Fail of narration throughout.

Ah…the desperation of journalists. To be fair, their industry is under pressure, along with their evaporating pensions. Hence the begging for liberal billionaires to buy them and use the company as a tax loss and launder their image. It’s actually a good deal for all parties.

James Franco, always the artist. Yes you can act, everyone knows that.

Story: Ethics, Relationships

Acting: Fail

Fail of Bryan Cranston’s acting. Not the right actor for the role.

Comments:

Fail of intro. At least the text intro gave a decent context. Hollywood was stupid not to support the Soviets during WWII and stupid for staying with them during the Cold War. F*cked either way.

Fail of set scenes.

Fail of party scene.

Fail of cinema scene.

Could you imagine demonizing Jews in Hollywood today? The ADL and Media Matters would destroy you before you woke up the next day.

It’s a shame that this movie is biographical.

"Fight with the purity of Jesus." Oh dear.

Yes, Hollywood treats writers like crap. Get over it.

Fail of restaurant scene.

Boring writing scenes throughout.

Fail of family scenes throughout.

Fail of friend talk scenes throughout.

Ah…the bad father. Well done.

Decent Goodman anger scene. "…in this for the money and the p*ssy and they’re both fallin’ off the trees." That sir, is the reason why most heterosexual men are in Hollywood. Money, sex and the control of both.

I make garbage! John Goodman in Trumbo 2015

Fail of intro.

Hayden Christensen from Star Wars. Wow.

Fail of preach scene.

Fail of bridge scenes. Oh dear god. Forgive the pun.

Decent hospital scenes.

Lacked in bedside manners. Jokes.

Ah yes, the miracle of prayer. I’m sure that went a long way with the genocide and/or slavery of the Jews, Native Americans and Blacks.

Sadly, most Christian movies (like this one) have stale dialogue. Even though it doesn't have to be this way.

Maybe if the movie was more than just him in a hospital, it could have worked…with better acting of course.

Fail of house scenes.

Fail of toilet scene.

Fail of climax scene.

Fail of ending.

Not as bad as most Christian movies, but still not enough to pass.
