PASSED: 31 Movies

FAILED: 91 Movies

*This article was updated in July 2022 because the original web pages were too large to be indexed by Google.

*I do NOT own the copyright for any movie posters.

*Movies are in no particular order. Please use Crtl F on your keyboard to find a particular movie. Movies that got a wide release in the year after their first screening are listed in the next year. For example, 300 (2006) is listed in 2007 because it only got a wide release in 2007.

*Don't worry about spoilers. You can read the review of any movie without being afraid of spoilers and enjoy the movie if you watch it. I intentionally made sure not to ruin a movie by revealing a hidden plot or hidden climax scene. I simply pass or fail each scene and comment on them.

Comments:

Fail of intro.

Ah…the life of the standup comedian. It's tough. Nice to see.

Fail of bar scene.

Decent apartment scene.

Good Indian family scenes throughout.

Good date scenes throughout.

Fail of drama scene.

Grow a beard. Jokes.

Guy, at least ask a woman if she's been married before or has kids.

Good hospital scenes throughout.

Ray Romano. Wow. What a blast from the past.

Good standup comedy scenes throughout.

Decent drive thru blow up scene.

Good climax scene.

Excellent ending.

Baby Driver, 2017 Baby Driver, 2017: FAIL

Commercial Success

Writer: Edgar Wright

Director: Edgar Wright

Dialogue: Fail

Weak dialogue throughout.

Plot: Thieves want to rob banks.

Story: Ambition, Relationships

Characters: Fail

Only driver character makes sense.

Acting: Pass

Comments:

Good intro.

Thanks to Jason Statham movies, contracting out for getaways is now a business? Oh dear.

Excellent car chase scenes throughout. I wonder how long it took to film.

Fail of money meeting scene. Too stupid.

Fail of elevator scene.

Good home scenes throughout.

Good flashback scenes throughout.

Fail of all prep scenes throughout. Kevin Spacey setup too stupid.

One girl to take his heart away? Since he's a kid, I'll let it pass.

Good diner scene.

Good Laundromat scene.

How much was the music clearance for this movie? Must have been pretty high.

Using another kid to help scope. That's a good idea.

The plot is garbage, the driver character is passable. But a movie is not an island.

Fail of buyer deal scene and events spiraling down.

Fail of most scenes.

Decent climax scene, but not enough to pass.

Fail of ending.

The Beguiled, 2017 The Beguiled, 2017: FAIL

Potential Profit

Writer: Sofia Coppola

Director: Sofia Coppola

Dialogue: Fail

Plot: A man wants to desert his army unit.

Story: Ethics

Characters: Fail

Acting: Pass

Comments:

Fail of intro.

Ah…the women conditioned to be helpless. A far cry from the empowered women of Sin City.

And they all fancy him because they have no other men there. Sigh.

Listening to women talk about their conditioned life…oy vey.

Fail of almost all house scenes.

Prison or death? Sometimes it's a more difficult choice than it seems.

A man reflecting on his choices in the 1800s. Lovely.

What a coward for putting others in danger.

Fail of night attack scene.

Fail of climax scene.

Fail of ending.

Wonder, 2017 Wonder, 2017: PASS

Epic Commercial Success

Writer: Jack Thorne, Steve Conrad, Stephen Chbosky

Director: Stephen Chbosky

Dialogue: Pass

Plot: A boy wants a better life.

Story: Relationships, Family

Characters: Pass

Acting: Pass

Comments:

Decent intro.

Good birth flashback scene.

27 surgeries. This movie is going to make a massive amount of money. Usual heart strings movie.

Umm…plastic surgery and facial reconstruction is pretty good in 2017. It's not exactly like in Elysium but it's solid. And I mean facial reconstruction by private healthcare, not sh*tty public ones.

The idea that he would look like that is too unbelievable.

He looks 90% human with 10% cat face. I love cats and most furry creatures.

Good school scenes throughout.

Ah…the cruelty of children. And people wonder why kids are homeschooled.

Good family home scenes throughout.

A Padawan thing. Jokes.

Ah…the superficial idea of pretending that looks don't matter. A cruel joke in our society.

Good perspective from daughter throughout.

The resentment from everyone is natural.

They still do elementary school pictures like that? I had no idea. Same when I was in elementary school.

Ah…the courtyard.

Good cafeteria scene.

Excellent grandmother scene.

Good child blowup scene.

Didn't need the perspective from the other kid.

Good Miranda phone conversation. Well done. Could have extended it with a close up.

Movie is ruined from too many perspectives. Still passable but...

Good play scene.

Kids still do the volcano thing? Jokes.

Good principal scene.

Good climax scene.

Good ending.

Passed with 3 writers. Well done.

Thank You for Your Service, 2017 Thank You for Your Service, 2017: PASS

Epic Commercial Failure

Writer: Jason Hall

Director: Jason Hall

Dialogue: Pass

Plot: Military veterans wants a better life.

Story: Family

Characters: Pass

Acting: Pass

Good acting by main Miles Teller. His acting is getting better. I like it.

Comments:

Good intro.

Soldiers who join the army because they have no purpose in life. Same as climate change cult believers and religious people.

Sorry, but whatever your initial purpose prior to incarnating on the Earth (if you believe in reincarnation), wasn't to kill people in unjust invasions or spout ideological science to defend your beliefs. And yet, that's the way reality turned out. Sad.

Good plane scene.

Soldiers that want to die on the battlefield. Understandable given the brainwashing. Dying for one’s country is valued as the most noble sacrifice one can make. And yet in reality, all soldiers are simply expendable objects fighting the Illuminati’s war.

Good bar scene.

Good bank scene. Expected.

Good tone of movie.

Good drive scene.

Good hunting night scene.

Ah…the life of the expendable solider. After the first gulf war, all soldiers should have known what they're getting into.

Good ol' veteran affairs. What a scandal they are in reality.

Veteran affairs scandal letting veterans die, Obama administration

Veteran affairs scandal Eric Shinseki

Veteran Affairs troubled history, veterans broken toys

Good music content.

Good psychiatrist/therapy scenes throughout.

Good hallucination scenes throughout. Holy f*ck.

Excellent cinematography.

Good dog fight scene.

Good truck scene.

Good climax scene.

Decent ending.

Solid movie.

Less than $10 million at the box office? The audience was too cruel. This movie should have made at least Potential Profit. The fact that it didn't proves that God does NOT exist.

Fail of partner guy.

Fail of crime scene investigation scenes throughout.

Fail of car scene.

Abduction scene too unbelievable.

And the plot begins to spiral.

He should have expected blowback. Why is it that no one expects blowback in Hollywood movies? Christ.

Decent music content. I think the music composer is learning, but has lots of room for growth. Looking forward to see the music content in their next movie.

Fail of mastermind boss scenes throughout.

Good torture scene.

Fail of casino scenes throughout. Doesn't make sense.

Complete fail of all scenes.

Fail of parking garage scene.

Feels like this movie is made up as it goes. Fail of writing and directing.

Fail of all scenes. Fail of writing.

Decent hotel scene.

Fail of betrayal scene.

Fail of torture scene.

Fail of agent realization scene.

Fail of climax scene.

Fail of ending.

One of the worst movies of all time. This movie shouldn't have made $1.00. The fact that it made almost $70 million proves that God does NOT exist.

Decent obstacle course place scene.

The slow motions made it work.

Using the son as a shield. Could have been funnier.

What was the music clearance bill for this movie?

Good ball wax scene but still missing the comedy.
